Supporting a German market launch made localization an architectural concern rather than a translation task.

Calm was preparing its iOS product for a German launch. The engagement focused on localization and internationalization: work that appears editorial at the surface but quickly reaches into data models, layout assumptions, release processes, and the way product teams treat language throughout a codebase.
My contribution combined delivery for the German market with guidance on idiomatic Swift and the application's use of Realm. The lasting lesson was that internationalization is most reliable when treated as a product and systems concern from the beginning. Language exposes hidden assumptions, and resolving those assumptions improves the software beyond the market that first revealed them.
